If we can’t grow them ourselves we try to source them locally to support local farmers and businesses.
Michelle, our landlady, takes care to plant seasonable fruit and veg, that can be used for future dishes in the kitchen, and served straight to you, as fresh as can be! Just a few of the things we’ve grown in the last year are: tomatoes, lettuces, beetroots, herbs, chillies, coriander and lemon verbena! If you’ve visited us over the last year, we’re sure you’ve enjoyed some of Michelle’s efforts.
Our Pesto Pizza is also covered in home grown tomatoes, as seen below:
Michelle managed to grow a fantastic variety of colours of tomato this year!
Having started this enterprise 2 years ago, Michelle has done a fantastic job alongside Head Chef Daniel, to create a truly diverse and fresh menu.
Michelle’s future plans for the pub include growing potatoes and corn, and expanding the amount of produce that is grown in house.
